Let’s Chow Food Truck Fellowship
INTERESTED IN BECOMING A LET’S CHOW FELLOW?
We offer four paths for veterans looking to start or expand their careers. For veterans who are more interested in helping their communities, we offer a path to help you start fighting food insecurity in your area.
Our four paths are starting points for custom-designed programs based on each Fellow’s specific goals and feature evaluations that challenge veterans to develop the skills needed to succeed in the industry.
Let’s Chow Fellowship Options
-
Truck Starter
Our most intensive program, the Truck Starter track trains veterans with the entrepreneurial spirit and passion for food in the mobile culinary industry how to operate a food truck business without needing to buy a truck first. After going through our 8-month program, students are primed with the experience and training to go off and get their own truck and start turning profits sooner. The ideal Small Business Starter either has a food business already and is interested in expanding into the mobile sector or has some previous food service training and wants to develop their own truck business.
-
Culinary Supplier
We understand that full-time truck ownership may not be a realistic goal for those that may just be looking to build a small culinary business, but that doesn’t mean we can’t help. Our Culinary Supplier track allows Fellows the space and time to develop recipes, sourcing relationships, and product/market fit. Our program gives veterans with “cottage industry” businesses the chance to experiment and get their products out to a wider range of customers, and are also able to become suppliers for our trucks themselves.
-
Community Ambassador
We realize many veterans have a strong desire to serve their communities beyond military service, and our Community Ambassador track focuses on making connections within the community to help fight food insecurity. Community Ambassadors will focus on cooking for large amounts of people and organizing events for our “Kitchen with a Mission” initiative.
-
In-Truck Supporter
One of our founding principles was to be able to take a veteran from novice cook to food truck expert, and the In-Truck supporter role is designed to do just that. For veterans looking to start a new career or a new side-hustle, the In-Truck Supporter path allows veterans to learn on-the job at a pace that works for them and their lives.
